Originally from up north, the delightful and charming Stoke-on-trent, Staffordshire. After completing my degree in 2013 in Graphic design, to which during I began increasingly interested and passionate about user experience and user interface design. I relocated to London in 2014 and hit the ground running.
Over the past couple of years I have been fortunate enough to have worked on some incredibly exciting and innovative projects for equally incredible clients such as Argos, Sainsbury's, Costa Coffee, BBC and Chelsea FC
This has enabled me to evolve from a skilled creative individual into a highly competent, versatile and exceptionally skilled designer, giving me the ability to develop ideas and concepts into effective and practical design solutions with meticulous attention to detail.
I am Senior UI Designer for Mobile apps and in-store displays and I am responsible for both iOS, Android and in-store platforms. I have created separate atomic component libraries for each platform taking on the Argos branding but also maintaining native guidelines. I work in collaboration with UXA, UX research, iOS & Android Developers and Project managers on a daily basis to challenge and enhance the apps experiences. I also mention junior designers in the business and regularly host workshops within the company demonstrating new technologies / software to enhance the team and it's efficiency.
As product designer at Ideas Made, I am responsible for the day to day liaisons with clients regarding design decisions and requirements. For projects that require UX I am responsible for analysing, reviewing and creating the user experience flows, wireframes and design solutions, including visual UI design and components. It is also my responsibility to create and develop prototypes which are tested internally and externally, and ensure projects get approved via the clients and working closely with developers to ensure a project is built according to the design.
Working amongst a small design team on several clients including Costa Coffee, Pfizer international and Mercer UK, working on mobile strategy and defining innovative mobile solutions to responsive websites and mobile applications. Working closely with Product owners and developers, I define the user experience and user flows creating persona's, wireframes, prototypes and focus groups.
Working within a small UI design team as part of the new Digital Experience team. Working on a variety of projects and innovations, creating visual design and UI elements. Wireframing, prototyping, Accessibility, user testing, focus groups, working closely with UX design, product owners, developers within an Agile work environment.
Working on high profile client projects including BBC, Chelsea FC, Manolo Blahnik, Finery and Clarks shoes. Working along a senior designer, creating visual language, UI elements, wireframes, prototypes, style guides, user flows, image manipulation, 3D modelling, rendering and animation.
Working within a small UI design team, creating visual mood boards, assessing the apps user flows and pin pointing potiential flaws and errors throughout the app. I also then worked on removing the skeuomorphism within the app for a more up-to date UI design in line with the release of iOS 8. Creating mockups, wireframes and prototypes to be presented to stakeholders for approval and to get an idea of the future design for the app.
Working closely with the agencies creative director on a new fully responsive website for the agency. Creating basic mockups and layouts via pen and paper. Making high level digital layouts, user flows and wireframes followed by prototypes. I worked closely with the in-house developer enabling me to identify any restrictions and the limitations in my designs. I then created final design and UI elements in Photoshop which were then delivered to the developer for release.
